She has her first molar!

(Here she is styling the latest in banana hair gel!)

It finally starting poking through! It's her bottom right one. She's been ridiculously clingy for about 5 days now and just today she calmed down a bit. When I was brushing her teeth tonight I felt it and then we checked it out.

My girl's got 11 teeth now! :D

The Best Class Ever!

Christine Middlecamp, designer for Sassafrass Lass and Crate Paper, is doing a free tutorial on her blog. It's going to be a shadow box with 16 intricately embellished doilies on it. There will be one tutorial per doily and each one will be different.

She's posted three of the tutorials so far and they are awesome! I've done all three, just finished the last one a little while ago, and they are super detailed and pretty easy to follow.

The really great thing about these is that while she gives you the info on what products she uses, you can easily substitute your own goodies.

Here's the first one.

I used some of the same kinds of paper (notebook style vs. ledger) but I've switched out colors based on what I had (aqua fabric paper vs. a pinky fabric) and just what I like (aqua bling vs. orange).
Here's the second one. This one's a little more noticeable different than hers but I still like it a lot!
I didn't have a flower transparency that would work so I created my own using a rub-on and some clear transparency. I also didn't have the little flower punch she used but found some similarly sized sequins that did the trick.
I tried out two chipboard flowers for this and wound up using both of them!
Here's the third doily. I think I love this one the most. Well, at least right now!
I've almost exclusively used scraps for this project which is a very good thing. My patterned paper scrap drawer is nutso-full! LOL!
Christine used a cute chipboard butterfly for her piece but I didn't have anything like it. I couldn't even find a stamp that I could color. So, I hopped on the web and searched "free clipart butterfly", printed out this cutie on some smooth cardstock and cut it out. Go me gettin' all hybrid! LOL!
These have been great at getting me to think outside the box with my products and to see them and how to use them in a different light.
I'm really looking forward to the next 13 tutorials! You should hop on over and join me! :D

Why yes, I'm still here!

LOL! I've been slacking on the blogging lately. Not sure why, just haven't felt super chatty, I guess. :)

We had a very family oriented Mother's Day today. First up, a super yummy brunch at the country club with my mom, step-dad, brother, granny and two of my uncles! :) Then, home for a nap and over to my mother-in-laws to hang out with them for a while. We stacked wood, played with the kids and chatted.

On the way home, Andrew asked me if I wanted to have my Dad over for dinner and what I was going to make. Um, hello! It's Mother's Day. If I'm cooking, I don't want to cook for MORE people and speaking of me cooking, how about you do it! LOL! So, we had BBQ'd venison and broccolli. Then, I made carmel corn. Yum!!!

Well, I don't want to leave you without a picture but I haven't uploaded today's pics yet. So, here's a layout I made recently for a sketch challenge over at AWDML.

You can join in here. :D

I hope all the Mothers out there had a great Mother's Day! :)

Lucy (DT Coordinator)-
Erica [you are here! ;) ]
Here's my challenge for you!
I love making cards. I love being a bit unusual. So, to combine these two loves of mine, I challenge you to create a shaped card!
It doesn't matter what shape as long as it's not a rectangle. Have fun with it and see how out of the box you can get! ;)
Here's my take.

I used my Slice to cut out two 4" scalloped circles, one 3 1/2" solid circle, and one 3 1/2" circle with a butterfly already cut out. The other two butterflies were also cut using the Slice and are Jenni Bowlin papers.

Remember, the deadline is May 4th at midnight PST. The winner will be announced May 8th, and you can post your creation in the AWDML Gallery, on your own blog or use photobucket.

If you have any questions on how to put this together or need any help at all, just shoot me an e-mail or comment below.

Your next stop is the fabulous queen of ric-rac, Miss Stacy!!!
